The Saturn return: timing, pressure and better questions
Why Saturn returns happen around ages 29 and 58, what the transit can symbolise and how to approach it without fatalism.

A return is an astronomical reunion
Saturn takes about twenty-nine and a half years to orbit the Sun. A Saturn return occurs when transiting Saturn comes back to the zodiacal degree it occupied at birth, commonly near ages twenty-nine, fifty-eight and eighty-eight. Retrograde motion can create more than one exact pass.
The wider period may stretch across many months, but the exact dates are calculable. Sign, house and natal aspects describe the chart territory involved; age alone is not enough to make every Saturn return identical.
The symbolism concerns consequence
Saturn is associated with limits, time, responsibility, authority and structures that endure. During a return, people often reassess commitments and the shape of adulthood. That may involve work, partnership, family, solitude or an internal standard, depending on the chart and actual life.
Difficulty is possible, but crisis is not a requirement. Consolidating a craft, choosing a sustainable boundary or accepting a role can also be Saturnian. The transit does not demand marriage, a career change or any other cultural milestone.
Ask what can carry weight
Useful questions include: Which obligation is genuinely mine? What structure has become too small? Where am I substituting endurance for purpose? What deserves patient construction? Answers can emerge gradually across the repeated passes.
Use the transit as a period for honest review, not a countdown to disaster. Decisions about health, money or law still belong with qualified advice and real evidence. Astrology may describe the season of a question; it does not make the decision for you.
